I was taken in when I was young and raised to be one of them. For most of my life, they're all I've had. My family, even if a poor semblance of one.

A lot of people are put off by her, and many of my friends usually tell visitors to avoid her.

It is so hard to let go of family, especially when they're all you ever know. As long as it doesn't endanger you too much, I won't complain too much, but... if they don't care for you the way a family should... I'd like to see you get a better one.
