[ Adolphe thinks about it. Have things been better here instead of the living?
...
Yeah, but he's not glad to be dead or anything. In fact, he watches the living less because he didn't want to deal with that. For example, he skips out on watching executions, because he decides it's not his business and he doesn't care. ]
As for what you intended... do you mean getting to know me better?
[ he seemed more receptive to her in general, so she felt like being here and away or some of the other people here helped somehow. not many want to die again, but it's what she noticed. ]
Uh-huh. I wanted to write more in my book, but you left so soon.
[ disapproval, for sure. there are actions and things that she does not care for, but it's hard for her to hate people when humanity is what she loves.
she notes the disgust. ]
Sometimes, you have to bring change to people. They won't always react well or take to it, but that's how it can start.
[ she sighs. ]
I know the world can be unfathomably cruel, but it was difficult to see. I'm glad he had you.
[ Adolphe realizes that Elysia has the experience and has most likely seen people be people over years and years. Adolphe's own existence pales in comparison to her experience. ]
[ It's not about himself and it's not as personal, so Adolphe agrees easily. The horse continues the light strolls. ]
Hugo was Yves's partner.
[ Not romantic partner, but Elysia is free to take it however she wants. ]
They were recruited into the vigilante group at the same time by the former leader. The "Courunne" idea was made by them in which they do a bunch of requested odd jobs, but mostly handyman work. Apart from that, Hugo... would be like Yves's restraint, but even he can't handle him from time to time. I led the vigilante group after our former leader retired, but Yves and Hugo were pretty much second in command together. He's reliable, and one of my friends.
[ ....... ]
He died in my... "timeline", I guess but he lives in Yves and Lucas's.
[ if it was murder, the how would be less of a mystery.
she shakes her head with a soft laugh. ]
I didn't think it was because of charisma. If you were chosen, it's for a reason. You're dependable and reliable and for as much as you want to pull away, you still can't stay away, can you? It's in the way you care.
Not exactly. Hugo was a Reliver, which meant that he used a backup body after his original died from the curse. We also recently learned that Relivers could also die if they experience moments of unrequited love too many times... or something?
[ He sounds unsure. ]
Because it's too much emotions for the processor to handle. I don't exactly know how it works, but we didn't know anyone Hugo was in love with either, so that's out.
[ hugo died from being in love with yves???? help me i'm so sorry hugo you deserve to love yves without dying
she thinks that over, piecing together what she knows about his island's curse. ]
Isn't that a bit sad? To extend life but not being able to feel, to emote? I wouldn't like that, but I know people strive to survive and live for just one more day.
... It's a shame that love can't be extended. [ ... ] Just because you didn't know he was in lov with someone doesn't mean he wasn't, though?
[ she's thinking people hold their feelings inside until they die sometimes. this time maybe literally. ]
That's one of the cons that people consider about turning into a Reliver. Not everyone is fine with it, for the record. They can still emote, but you can also forget the feelings of love you had before you died. I saw someone revive as a reliver and broke up with her boyfriend because she no longer felt anything for him. Instead, she liked someone else.
[ Adolphe thinks about it while still controlling the horse. ]
You're right, but I think that sort of thing would be easily shown.
[ virche really had someone had canon yaoi feelings and killed him ]
... This shouldn't have to be said, but I'll say it anyway. Don't tell Yves that he died.
They're always developing new stuff at the institute, and I'm guessing they're trying to solve that aspect, but it's probably complicated. I don't know much about that place.
[ The hiding part gives Adolphe mixed feelings. ]
Hm, I thought I would have known Hugo by now... but if he really did, I guess I didn't.

He feels the hand over his and he holds back the urge to pull his hand back because he didn't expect it. ]
... He does that?
[ He hoped he wouldn't...... and he sighs. ]
If only it didn't take dying to get like this again.
no subject
She doesn't say that yves sings everyone's praises, but adolphe obviously holds a higher place. She thinks it doesn’t need to be said.
She smiles even if he isn't looking to see it. ]
Mm. It would have been better if you didn't die again at all, but I'll just take this chance to do what I intended before you were taken away.
It looks like being here has helped you a little.

You wrote a lot in it.
[ He thinks back on the book. ]
You two talked about his mask? I'm surprised.

[ it was supposed to eight weeks of thoughts, eight weeks of memories, eight weeks of all her love. ]
Huh? Really? I think I asked him about it our first week here. I know it's a sensitive topic for him.

[ sasuga elysia
He's honestly a little baffled about that. ]

[ how else was she supposed to learn, adolphe? ): ]
It's not like I took it off his face without his permission.

I think unfortunate things would happen if you did that.

quietly: ]
... I saw how he was treated. In a memory.
[ .... ]
I only know a little bit about your island, but... is it bad if I say things need to change?
[ she isn't the type to outright say she dislikes or hates things very often, but she hasn't liked much of what she's seen of arpechele. ]
no subject
[ Absolutely no hesitation. His eyes narrow a little. ]
Things have been needed to change for a while, but people don't change unless they want to change.
[ He says with slight disgust in his voice. However! He does note Elysia's... dislike(???), if he's allowed to call it that. That's a first. ]
I would send everyone who screamed about his face to Hades.

[ for how he doesn't like being around people but also can't help but care. ]
He sounds like a good friend and support to the both of you. I heard that you came from a timeline separate from the other two.
Do you miss him?
no subject
[ He sighs. ]
We still haven't figured out how or why he died. It was sudden.
[ Anyway. ]
... I was made the leader by the previous one. I didn't get it with my nonexistent charisma or whatever.

I think you can have feelings for more than one person but to suddenly not have the same feelings just because of that technology? It's flawed.
[ she doesn't like it. scien, fix your shit. ]
.... I don't know. People are good at hiding their feelings, if they try and put their all into it.
[ she gently taps the back of his hand. ]
I won't. I doubt it'll come up.

Aww, don't see it as that way. I'm sure you do know him. I think... maybe he was afraid, for whatever reason.
It's not on you. It might be because of how your island is.
[ elysia is ready to attribute so much to the arpechele's shitty culture. (she does not think shitty.) ]
no subject
Scared of revealing it because of how the island is...?
[ Well, he won't deny the possibility, but he can't think of a valid reason that would go with Hugo. ]
