[let's use the new locations so this is out near the entrance to the lighthouse, but shadowheart has stopped her exploring around when she's suddenly been overcome by affection week. she hears a chirping sound from a bush as the owlbear cub comes trundling back out from whatever pile of trash it was rooting around, some french fries in his mouth.

and shadowheart instantly starts talking to him in a baby voice]

There you are! Getting into trouble, are you? Don't get me kicked out of here, please.

[she will also throw her arms around his fluffy neck and start petting his feathers while she continues to baby voice at him.]

[ so many new sides of people elysia is seeing today. she has no reason to suspect there's an effect yet when she's usually affectionate, so she thinks this is so cute and shadowheart may or may not be like this in private.

she takes out her phone and snaps a pic quickly before tucking her phone away again. ]

There's no way he will. I'll defend the both of you.

[...good thing she hasn't gotten camera savvy yet. having the grace to look embarrassed.]

...Ahem. Will you? That's gracious.

[ once shadowheart becomes savvy, elysia will make a show of it. she smiles. ]

Of course. I'll take your side for almost anything.

[a slight quirk of a smile, as she tries to evaluate this.]

Will you? What if I'm on the opposite side of someone else you've promised to take the side of?

[florescences]

I don't like breaking any promise I've made, so I'll have you know I haven't told anyone else I'll take their side yet. Not here.

[ she holds up a finger. ]

If you want something more concrete, I'll take your side when it comes to your friend. Anything else can be evaluated as it comes up. It's not as if I'll compromise myself.

I wasn't doubting your integrity. Just wondering at how quick you are to say such things. Then again, I understand. He is very cute.

[she honestly thinks elysia is just kind of a flirt so it's harmless.]

Does it bother you that I don't hesitate?

[ whatever she may mean, she's sincere. ]

He is so cute! Do you think he'd allow me to pet him? Or if I ask him, do you think he'd let me?

It doesn't bother me, no. I rather like it.

[it only throws her off guard.]

I do think he'd allow it, especially if you ask.

[she does take that quite literally, since Speak with Animals is a common spell. but the cub is very friendly.]

[ she claps her hands together. She loves when she has permission.

She kneels to be more on eye level with the cub. ]

[the cub chirps happily! she can pet his fluffy feathery neck.]

[ yaaaay she's so happy. she pets the fluffy neck with delight. ]
