Literally.... or figuratively? Do you have to take up the name of the position you fill... of whoever you're replacing?

It's kinda like that. To take up the arms of the fallen is to take their place-- their unfinished work, their unfinished business, their name.

I started working as a mercenary when I still didn't have a name. When I decided to join a squad I'd been tailing later on... their demolitions guy bit it and I could do the work, so I picked up his stuff, went to the squad lead. Talked it out a little. Took my place as their demo expert, "W".

It's admirable to try to finish someone's work, but I agree with your princess. You deserve to have a name that's all your own.

It didn't sound like you were that close to the last W. If you were tailing that group before joining it, it sounds like there was quite a series of event that got you to join them. Were you still with them when you died?

We split off, more or less. Hoederer and Ines are opening up a shop in Kazdel now-- they showed me some of the spots they were looking at for it. Total shitheaps!
