I refuse to let myself feel helpless. Helplessness won't be of any use.
[Well, more like he hates feeling helpless, he already had enough of that feeling at very tragic moments while he was aliv. So, instead, he's trying very hard to shove that away and focus on what he can do.
Maybe not, but... it's not unnatural to feel it. It's okay to acknowledge it. What's important is how to move forward from it... which I can see you trying.
Oh, I don't think that's better for you... You have to face your feelings head on. There are many things to worry about, but you shouldn't deny yourself either.
...it's not like I'm trying to be ungrateful. It just is a ittle hard to take it when I'm all antsy right now.
[Akihiko is quiet for a moment, and shrugs]
This isn't something I'm used to, that's all.
[Although he has faced a whole lot of things, none of them has been like this. It's all a little too fresh, and pretty painful, really. As much as he hates he's not behaving all that reasonably right now towards Elysia, it's hard to cope with]
You shouldn't have to be used to something like this. Just take it a step at a time. Moving forward without forgetting yourself is key, but it's not like you have to constantly be moving.
[There aren't that many people in Akihiko's life he can say are role models or people who try to give some form of guidance or advice -- or at least people older than him. Elysia taking the time right now is...it's novel, in a way]
You remind me of someone I know, but less forceful.
[Well, no, truthfully there aren't that many similarities between Elysia and Mitsuru, but the willingness to try to give reasonable advice reminds him of her. It's a little bit sad that the people he can think as 'helpful rolemodels' are limited to one (1) peer of his same age. He's distant with his parents and the chairman of S.E.E.S was not a shining beacon of wisdom, precisely]
week 1, friday
elysia stops by him when she sees him. ]
Hey. How are you holding up?

Waking up and finding out two of the people you were with the night before are dead makes everything feel like a nightmare.
[Yeah, because of that. Charlie dying sucked, but at least he wasn't with her right before her death]

I'm sorry, Akihiko. That must make you feel more helpless.

Which isn't much, until the trial, but whatever!]

[ it's meant to be encouraging. ]

There'll be time to acknowledge it once everything is over. Until then, there are other things to worry about.
[Akihiko crosses his arms]
...I got no idea if this is the right thing to do, but it's what's working out for me.
[Well, at least he's admitting that. This is as close as it gets to some helpless acceptance right now]

[Such a blatant attempt to turn this back to her, wow]

[ her behavior is clear to see. ]
What I said was a suggestion. [ advice. ] You are your own person.
