I sure hope they do. That text after doesn't inspire much confidence. They didn't know it was possible.

I mean... [He waves a hand, at a loss. For words, for thought.] I don't want to beat a dead horse, or go wrapping my head in tin foil or anything. But so much here has felt like an extension instead of an afterlife. I'm still keen for nicotine, for one. And I can't see for shit — why would a guy need glasses in paradise? Huh? What a rip off.

Exactly. There shouldn't be the option to die at all. What if you'd choked on a chicken bone at the burger shack on day one? [Another voice, this time low and ancient. Faux godly.] Tough luck, son, but redemption is for people who chew their food.

And that message. They had some kind of procedure. Protocol. Whether that was for a death specifically, or just in case of injury, or some kind of other emergency, I don't know. But they knew something could go wrong.
